Unity Day: October 25, 2017
Each year, Sequoia School staff and students don their orange shirts to send a united message of hope, support, and unity against bullying on Unity Day, the Pacer Center's nationwide signature event promoting bullying prevention. On October 25, 2017, Sequoia will join schools and communities across the country to support the theme, "Together against bullying - united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion." In an effort to promote multicultural awareness, our students will partake in “A Taste of the World,” sampling international cuisine prepared by staff members. A presentation will follow to discuss respect for individual differences and the impact of bullying. Our students will have the unique opportunity to meet a presenter who has attended a segregated school to understand the personal impact of racism and discrimination.
